Mindfulness Training Purpose
The purpose of such a program
is to teach executives and corporate
leaders working in stressful, high performance environments how to use mindfulness
practices that can provide access to an immediate sense of calm and centeredness
in the midst of difficult situations, givethem greater self-awareness,
improve their concentration and focus, and learning how to work with interfering
negative, distracted forms of thinking and reactivity.
This training specifically
utilizes the core competency of mindfulness – the essential ability to
be present, self aware and cognizant of one’s environment or situation,
as a core learning principle. Though we all have the capacity to be aware,
normally our attention is scattered, distracted, unfocused, or simply
fragmented due to the busyness and complexity of demands on us at work
and in our personal lives. By training the mind, we can cultivate and
develop this capacity so we can sustain focus and attention and sharpen
our clarity
and perception.
